I was invited by an old friend last week to take pictures of their newborn Baby D. He was born shortly before the series of blizzards blasted our area earlier this month. In fact, they drove home from the hospital under treacherous conditions during the first of the back-to-back-to-back storms we received.
Baby D was only 3 weeks old when I took the pictures, but he was already past the “curl me up and I’ll fall asleep anywhere” phase. His parents had warned me that he’d been fairly difficult so far, but the little man I saw was a darling. He stayed awake and alert and happy for almost 2 hours! His grandparents were visiting so we were able to get some precious shots of them with Baby D. We spent the last half hour desperately trying to get him to fall asleep so that we could get some posed baby shots, but he had some plans of his own. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day. I love that he’s looking right at the camera in this first one!
There is nothing sweeter than a baby in his Daddy’s arms.
