What About Mom?! | Ashburn Mini Sessions

Every year I wait for it.  As the days tick down towards mid-May I rack my brain as the inevitable question approaches.  With my birthday falling just days after Mother’s Day each year, my poor boys are faced with the tough question of what to get for Mom, and I never have any good ideas.  So far this year, all I have been able to come up with to tell them are a new pillow, a stand-up paddle board, a floor mopping robot, or the absolutely impossible-to-get tickets to Broadway’s Hamilton (my latest obsession).  Odds are, unless my husband has a secret stash of money hidden away to get those scalped tickets, I’m going to be disappointed with the results. But the good news is that you don’t have to be!  I’ve got the perfect last minute gift idea for you to share with all of your people – Spring Mini Sessions!

Dads – I’ve got gift certificates and plenty of space on my Spring calendar for you to get that session booked for Mom.  Even better – you don’t have to buy a separate gift from the kids, just get them to make a card telling her how well they’ll cooperate at the session!  THAT is the best gift they could give her!

Moms – Just send Dad the link to this blog post, tell him to email me, and we’ll take it from there!

I know that we are in the heart of spring sports season right now and that weekend time is at a premium.  I am currently booking sessions in Brambleton at Legacy Park on Friday, May 13 at 6 and 6:30 pm, on Saturday, May 14 at 8, 8:30 and 9am, and on Sunday, May 22 at 8, 8:30 and 9am.   Additional times available upon request.  See below for more details about Mini Sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is different about a mini session?
The goal of a Mini Session is to get one or two great family shots, and then a few individuals and small group shots. They are quick and painless, and as the name says – Mini!  A mini session is typically only about 20 minutes in length compared to a regular session which is an hour to an hour and a half, and you get 5-8 photos to preview vs the 20-30 from a regular session.
A full session is much more personalized to each family. I spend a lot more time with you and get to capture everyone’s personality in a much more relaxed lifestyle session. There are more playful and candid moments in a full session, and we can do them in any location you choose. A full session is also ideal for larger families who want lots of different posing options, or for families with children who take longer to warm up to strangers or who have more difficulty cooperating. Can’t decide, send me an email and we’ll discuss pros and cons!  I do still have options for Full Sessions available on my Spring schedule!

Can you really get anything good in 20 minutes?
Sure! Take a look at some of my favorite photos above, from some of my favorite Spring Sessions.  I will caveat this by saying that IF your child is someone who typically takes a while to warm up to strangers then a full session is probably more ideal for you, as we only have limited time together.

What is included?
Your $350 fee includes your session time at Legacy Park in Brambleton ($100 value), and your choice of either One Digital Image and Three Gift Prints (8×10 or 5×7) OR Two Digital Images ($300 value).

What if we want more prints or canvases?
Additional prints, canvases and digital files may be purchased at a la carte pricing.  I offer a 20% discount on additional purchases made at the time of gallery release.
