I am a natural light, lifestyle, family photographer in Loudoun County, Virginia. I strive to create relaxed family portraits that showcase the essence of your family. I believe that a beautiful location and smiling family make beautiful pictures, but a meaningful location and a family doing what it loves together create a memory.
Pre-Planning
Once we choose a date for your family session, I will send you a questionnaire designed to help me capture everyone’s unique personalities. The more details you can provide me, the more customized your portrait session will be. We’ll review it together and plan a unique session tailored to the interests of your family. If there is an activity or favorite hobby that you like to do together, we’ll do our best to incorporate that in some fashion.
I will travel to your home or a favorite location of your choosing (maybe the playground, the creek, or a favorite ice cream shop) so that you and your family can relax and feel your most natural. I’ll bring my supply of silly faces and knock-knock jokes if you promise to bring your animal noises.
I suggest that you wear outfits that are coordinated, but not matchy-matchy, that are comfortable and colorful, and accentuate your personality. Your Custom Photo-Shoot
Enjoy up to two hours playing with your family while I document genuine smiles and true emotions. For two hours I’m letting you off the hook and asking you to relax the rules a little bit. If too many people are telling the kids what to do, they’ll freeze up and go into “cheese” mode. My patience is limitless when it comes to other people’s children. The moment when you are the most frustrated and think I’m not getting anything good, is probably the moment that I’m getting the best shot of the day!
A family session is about documenting the personality of every member of the family and all of the relationships that make up your story. I devote a portion of every session to the bond between the parents as well as with the children. I also believe that every woman deserves a beautiful picture of herself that is more up-to-date than her bridal photograph, so we’ll take a few minutes of quiet to focus on Mom as well.
Your session fee of $150 covers my corny jokes, patience, and face making. I have a $350 minimum order requirement, which includes three complimentary low-res digital files for social networking. Print collections begin at $550, and individual 8×10″ custom gift prints start at $45. I believe in the importance of print images, but also understand the desire for digital archives. With the purchase of some print collections, I include a complimentary CD of medium-format digital proofs. Individual hi-resolution digital images are also available for purchase.
Then What?
Upon completion of your session you will see a sneak preview on my blog within 5 days. I also create a custom slideshow of your finished proofs set to music for every session to share with family and friends, and I provide sample mock-ups of favorite images to help you visualize potential display options.

More Specifics:
I require a $75 non-refundable deposit to hold your session date and time.
I understand that sometimes kids get sick or have boo-boos. I also know that the weather in Northern Virginia can be very unpredictable. I am more than willing to reschedule in advance for these types of circumstances. Additionally, I offer a one time second chance policy in the event that your children just aren’t feeling themselves.
