Kelly Nelson Photography » Business http://kellynphotography.com/blog Ashburn, Virginia Lifestyle Family Photography Thu, 02 Feb 2012 19:23:55 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 Canvas Schmanvas http://kellynphotography.com/blog/2010/09/16/canvas-schmanvas/ http://kellynphotography.com/blog/2010/09/16/canvas-schmanvas/#comments Thu, 16 Sep 2010 18:31:11 +0000 Kelly http://kellynphotography.com/blog/?p=990 You may remember that earlier this summer, my good friend Beryl of Be Young Photography took my family’s photographs.  I was excited about this for several reasons.  First of all, it’s been a long time since we had someone else take our photos, which means it’s also been a long time since I’ve been in a photo.  Secondly, I had a wall in our family room that was severely lacking for interest.  I think I scared Beryl a bit when I told her that I was looking specifically for some prints that I could hang big on this wall, (no pressure!) but I was so pleased with the results.  Every time I walk into my family room now these pictures bring a smile to my face.  

For reference, this whole display measures 24×34, with a 16×24 as the large image on the left.  In this post, I mentioned how important it was to go bigger, but sometimes there’s more than just one image that you love.   A canvas cluster  is a great option to allow you to hang multiples and still make a huge impact.  Since these images were being hung as a cluster, I opted for the clean look of a solid colored edge, but depending on the image, I could have wrapped the images onto the border.
